1. Original photograph from a
church Halloween event. Very basic
editing from a raw image. No cropping.
2. Original photograph cropped a little
letting the little girl shine. No extra
charge for this type of editing.
3. Now the original image has been
significantly manipulated to have
more of a studio portrait look The
background has been blurred,
leaving it with a hand tinted look.
4. Basic black & white conversion from
image #2. The background was also
darkened to give the subject more
emphasis. This style portrait has a
soft, ethereal quality.
5. conversion from image #3. The
background is a different type of blur:
foreground has more of a sharpened
look.
6. Sepia conversion from image #3.
Picture Styles, Conversions & Digital Enhancements
Hopefully this page will illustrate the
diversity of styles and artistic
interpretations... as well as to open up
a dialogue, so you can convey your
personal likes & dislikes to me.
I want your images to be done in a
way that moves you. Before I edit
your images, you can let me know
what style(s) you like, as well as
what you don't. I can then create
everlasting, spectacular images for
you.
This page also serves as testimony
that taking the picture is only part of
what a photographer does. The post
processing can be as simple as a few
quick adjustments or can be very
complicated, depending on the look we
are trying to achieve.
Basic editing (which includes tweaking
the exposure, cropping, adjusting
brightness/contrast, adjusting the white
balance, & sharpening) is done on all
of the images. Sepia and black & white
conversions can be done on any
images that you choose.
I may do some artistic treatments
and/or black & white / sepia
conversions to any image that moves
me and I just can't help myself! Of
course, the original will be left
untouched if you prefer it. After all,
art is definitely subjective.
Past that, there is a charge for more
complicated artistic enhancements or
image corrections.
The rate for extra post processing is
$10 to $50+ per image, depending on
the degree of difficulty and time it
takes to edit. This charge would be a
one time charge, per image, and you
may order as many prints of that image
as you would like for no extra charge
(other than the print charge of course).
Most of the time, the charge would be
nominal, $10 to $20 or so per image.
A quote for any image will be supplied
before I edit it. If you are not happy,
there will be no charge.
If you decide that you would like me to
put a artistic spin on an image, I could
do several different conversions for
not much more than the price of one
edit.
I want you to be happy with your
portrait, event & wedding photographs,
so your input is important to me.

Basic editing. Looks fine.
Colorized & selective blurring. Now it
really pops!
Basic editing. Sunlight on the her
upper arm & both faces are a bit
distracting. This is a big problem
with midday sun!
Corrected image. Highlights are much
less distracting.
Add a frame to make it a little more
dramatic.
